Bio
Dr. Ester S. Stevens is a retired United States Air Force Veteran and Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 16 years of experience providing comprehensive mental health services across diverse clinical settings, including military behavioral health at Luke AFB, Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care System, private practice, group homes, schools, and inpatient environments such as correctional, forensic, psychiatric, and the ASPC-Lewis Eagle-Point Inpatient State Prison Facility.
Throughout her career, Dr. Stevens has served individuals across the lifespan—from early childhood through older adulthood—providing Psychological Evaluations, Autism Evaluations, Psychosexual Evaluations, Diagnostic Assessments, and individualized treatment planning. She has delivered Individual, Group, Family, and Couples Therapy, including services for sexual trauma recovery, problematic sexual behaviors, substance use treatment, anger and stress management, and court-involved forensic populations.
While her work reflects clinical rigor and diagnostic precision, Dr. Stevens is most deeply committed to the human being behind the diagnosis. She approaches every individual with intentional care, patience, and respect—listening carefully, honoring lived experience, and creating a space where individuals feel both safe and understood. Her treatment recommendations are practical, evidence-based, and tailored to the whole person—not just the presenting concern.
Dr. Stevens believes individuals possess an inherent capacity for resilience, even in the face of profound adversity. She conceptualizes resilience as a dynamic biopsychosocial process rooted in the restoration and maintenance of internal balance. Her clinical aim is to identify areas of imbalance and compassionately guide clients toward reestablishing healthy psychological, behavioral, relational, and spiritual equilibrium—promoting not only symptom relief but sustained well-being.
Grounded primarily in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), the first of the cognitive behavioral therapies, Dr. Stevens helps individuals recognize that while the past cannot be changed, perspectives, beliefs, and responses can be reshaped in the present. Through this work, she supports clients in moving beyond survival toward clarity, stability, and meaningful growth.
